Category C – Rigid HGV Training

For anyone who wants to drive rigid HGVs professionally. Ideal if you hold a full car licence and are starting a career in HGV driving. Category C is usually the first step into the industry.

• Safe, professional driving skills
• Reversing and manoeuvring a rigid HGV
• Load safety and hazard awareness
• Full preparation for the DVSA driving test

You’ll need:

• A full car licence (Category B)
• D4 medical
• Theory Test (Module 1a)
• Hazard Perception Test (Module 1b)

If driving professionally, you’ll also need Driver CPC Modules 2 and 4. We can arrange all tests and medicals for you.

Training is in 4-hour sessions. Most learners complete the course in 16–20 hours.
