Forklift Training

A telescopic handler, also known as a telehandler or reach forklift, is a lifting truck widely used in the UK. It has an extending boom and low height giving it increased versatility.

The boom can be fitted with several attachments including a bucket, pallet forks or muck grab for example.

Professional training is essential for using a telescopic handler to understand it's load-bearing capabilities and centre of balance for safe operation.

Course Requirements

Information on minimum training requirements for the Telescopic Handler course is below:

Refresher	1 Day	Maximum of 3
Conversion	2 Days	Maximum of 3

• Novice: For Candidates who have no experience of operating any kind of telescopic handler
• Experienced: For Candidates with lots of practical experience and no initial formal training
• Refresher: For Candidates recertification following expiry of their current Certificate
• Conversion: For Candidates who have certification on one machine to be trained tested and certified on another

Premises Requirements

• Telescopic handler in good working and safe condition
• A room to carry out the theory classroom elements of the course
• An area of approximately 30sqm to operate the Forklift and conduct practical lessons and test
• 30 or more empty pallets
• Loads to lift, move and stack
• Racking or loads that can be stacked at ground, eye and high levels
